001 1110793 · Lanzarote and its neighbour Fuerteventura are the closest of the Canaries to Africa, about 125 km off the Atlantic coast of Morocco. We stayed in Yaiza, a village in the south-west (part of its park shown). Lanzarote isn't very big – we could drive to the northern tip in less than an hour.
