Around both sides are painted carvings, almost a comic strip. It shows the story of a rich Jew who poked fun at the martyrs who had been tortured and executed by the Romans on a rock near here. He was nearly suffocated by a serpent that suddenly appeared from the rock. He repented, converted to Christianity and built a church here.
